SCMI-AICS Unit Report
Universal Day of
Prayer 2012
This was held in 29th January, 2012 at Pastor
Thanzinga Chapel, AICS. We followed the program from WCC website and at the
same time as we had only one chance of worship service we couldn’t be able
perform the details give in the program. We spent it as our Sunday evening
worship.
Mr. Laltanpuia Pautu, the President of SCMI-AICS Unit was
the leader of the worship. Proclamation of Apostle Creed was done by Mr.
Vanlalkima Khiangte, the Prayer of
Repentance Mr. V Hrilliana, Executive Committee Member, SCMI-AICS Unit, Prayer for unity and Transformation was done
by Ms. Mary Hnamte, Instructress, Missionary Training Institute, AICS, Sign of peace and the sharing of the Oplatek
was done by Mr. Lalhruaitluanga Chawngthu, Secrerary, SCMI-AICS Unit, Prayer of commitment was done by Mr.
Lalrinawma Sailo, Accountant, AICS and Blessing
sending forth was done by Rev. Vanlalzuia Tochhawng. Beside this, there
was solo from Rev. K Rohmingliani, Faculty (Ministry) AICS, and C Lalremruata,
Missionary Trainee. Offertory prayer was done by Mrs. Zuatpuii, wife of Rev.
Dr. VL Chhawna Khiangte, faculty (New Testament). There was scripture readings
from Deborah (Fruits), Joseph Lalbiaksiama (MDIV I) and R Lalrochangi (BD III
(N) and Rev. Lalhmingchhuanga Jongte delivered a message on the topic ‘Unity’.
As we had only one chance for this program within a tight
and hectic Academic Program, we did it in this way and all the participants are
from our own community as we said before, this was done as our Sunday worship
service.
SCMI Nite
This was held on 2nd March, 2012 at Pastor
Thanzinga Chapel. Elsie HC Vanlalruati and Laltanpuia Pautu led the program in
a lively way. Devotion was done by Stephen Lalrinawma which was followed by
Special Number from SCMI-AICS Unit Executive Committee members which was on
opener from the nite’s program. The response for the special song from the
audience was great. Judith Lalremruati, who hold 2nd Runner up in
Mizo Idol 2011 was our Guest Artist and she perform two songs. F Ngursailova
performs extempore speech which was very meaningful. The Shekina School of
Music with their Teacher Ms. Joana Heath present to us a short play and we
watched the story of AICS from the beginning with power point presentation from
Mr. H Vanlalvawna. The Missionary Trainee present to us ‘Chai’ one of the Mizo
Traditional Dance which was very beautiful and inspiring. There was a short
speech from Rev. Dr. Thongsei M Haokip, Senior Advisor and the fruits (Children
Group of AICS) present to us a beautiful Choreography. The was a special talent
show from Rev. Vanlalringa followed by Games from David F Lalkhawngaiha. There
was a custom parade from different tribes of North East India and Bangladesh
and Myanmar. For the first time ever since AICS exist, there was selection of
SCMI Mister and Miss of the year and Mister SCMI was Mr. Stephen Lalrinawma and
Miss SCMI was Ms. Elsie HC Vanlalruati. Vote of thanks was done by
Lalhruaitluanga Chawngthu. We had a lively and meaningful program.
