OBSERVING OF “WORLD AIDS ORPHANS DAY” BY THE SHILLONG CITY UNIT ON THE 19/MAY/2012.

A BRIEF REPORT.
In connection with the world wide celebration of the “World Aids Orphans Day”, the Shillong City Unit, Shillong celebrated this occasion on the 19th May 2012. Due to unavoidable circumstances, the Unit could not celebrate this programme on the very day of the 7th May 2012, as scheduled.
In observing this day, our Unit visited one of the orphanage in Shillong, the A.W.Thomas Girls Home at 1:00 PM. Around 30 members from the Unit participated in this programme. In A.W.Thomas Girls Home, there are 66 girls (age 5-18) looking after by 3 female wardens.
The Unit conducted a simple programme on this day. We had worship service, action songs, donation from our Unit and refreshment served to all present on this day. After the service we spent some time through games and interaction with these children. It is an interesting and memorable programme. As we depart from that place we send our regard and moral support to this Home.
May God Bless His Children. “Let the children come to me for thy is the Kingdom of God”.
